We Screen Each Contractor and Member Company in 10 Important Areas

In order to join the Home Improvement Hotline contractors and member companies are screened in 10 key areas: 
  1. The contractor or company must have a reputation for fair dealing and customer satisfaction as evidenced by active membership in the Better Business Bureau (BBB). There can be no record of outstanding or improperly resolved complaints with the BBB or any consumer protection agency.
  1. The contractor or company must be currently licensed in each area of specialization as required by the State of Florida and as required by each county in which it does business.
  1. The contractor or company must carry general liability insurance with policy limits of not less than $500,000.00. In addition they must carry workers compensation insurance on each non-exempt employee.
  1. The contractor or company, through it principals or employees, must be able to demonstrate at least 5 years experience within its area of specialization.
  1. The contractor or company must have written quality assurance guidelines and employee training commensurate with the scope and nature of the work each employee is expected to perform.
  1. The contractor or company must supply the names of satisfied customers as references who will attest to the overall quality of the service that was provided and the work that was performed.
  1. The contractor or company must demonstrate financial stability as a creditworthy enterprise. There can be no record of outstanding judgments.

  1. The contractor or company must screen all new employees prior to hiring and must develop policies consistent with maintaining a drug-free workforce.

  1. The contractor or company must warranty materials and labor on all work performed for a minimum of 12 months.

  1. The contractor or company must subscribe to our Code of Professional Conduct & Fair Dealing and must agree to abide by its terms and conditions.
